Max Payne 3
PS3, X360, PC
(Online Multiplayer)
For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to painkillers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.
Featuring cutting edge shooting mechanics for precision gunplay, advanced new Bullet Time and Shootdodge effects, full integration of Natural Motion’s Euphoria Character Behavior system for lifelike movement and a dark and twisted story, Max Payne 3 is a seamless, highly detailed, cinematic experience from Rockstar Games. I’d definitely give this game a 9/10.

Max Payne 3 is available to buy now on both PS3 and X360 with PC version launching on June 1st.

Starhawk
PS3
(Online Multiplayer)
From the creators of Warhawk comes a bold new 3rd Person shooter adventure. Starhawk's gameplay stays true to Warhawk's style with only a few changes being made. Firstly, the "build and battle" system has been added, which means players can create structures such as sniper towers, walls, barracks and fortresses. Starhawk is as much about strategy as it is action. The Build & Battle system plays a significant role in what you're able to do within the confines of a third-person action game. As you acquire Rift energy, a lucrative but dangerous substance, you can call in orbital drops to change the flow of battle. In some cases, orders even affect level design. You can build walls and mount them with turrets if you're holding out in one area, call in a supply bunker for heavy weaponry, or summon vehicles from space for usage on the ground or in the air. After playing both the Starhawk demo and buying the game I would highly recommend getting it! This game deserves a 9/10. Available to buy now on PS3.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
PS3, X360, Nintendo DS
(Online Multiplayer)
The sixth installment in the Ghost Recon franchise. Future Soldier is a third-person cover-based shooter, switching to a first-person camera for precise aiming. The elite team known as the Ghosts will face Russia's most secretive special operations force, the Bodark. The campaign is set in places such as Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia and Norway.

This game is a refreshing change from the current trend of shooters, and in the moments when everything clicks together, it’s hard to think of a more absorbing shooter. Unfortunately it doesn't always click though, and forgettable dialogue, poor facial animations and inconsistent visuals dent what is otherwise a great game.

But if you’re after a superbly paced, thoughtful shooter that boasts a strong campaign and enjoyable multiplayer, Future Soldier is the game for you. 8/10
